My Favourite Reindeer Jumper

It’s jumper weather!  And yes, I know I just wrote all about autumn last week but I’ve been called out in the great Sweater Weather Tag Challenge by my favourite British blogger who happens to be living in Germany. She teaches me about jaffa cakes and haribos and keeps me laughing, and thus I cannot let her down. I must rise to the challenge.

Of course the jumper reference is to one of my fav movies Bridget Jones’s Diary where she sees Mark Darcy at her mother’s annual turkey curry buffet wearing the reindeer jumper his mother had given him the night before.  It plays a significant role throughout the film.  But, I’m here to answer the Sweater Weather Challenge questions, so here goes….

What is your favourite candle flavour?  Vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin.  I like spicy candles.

Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?  I like all three, but tea for autumn.

What is the best Autumn memory you have?  Eeekk.  That’s a tough one. I really love the fall so how can I choose just one? I guess I’ll pick being at the Texas state fair and the Cotton bowl while a student at the University of Oklahoma and watching the Sooners beat the Longhorns.  Yes, that was a very good autumn memory.

Which fall trend do you prefer, dark lips or winged eyeliner?  Uh, I gave up my subscription to Style magazine a couple of years ago.  Are these trends in the U.S.?  I can carry off dark lips, but winged eyeliner?  I think I’m a bit long in the tooth for that one.

What is your favourite autumn food?   Well, I love food, so again, this is a tough one.  But, let’s go for fair food, since I’m in a county fair kind of mood.  I’ll choose a corn dog with mustard.

What is the autumn weather like where you live?  I live in Atlanta, GA in the U.S. of A. It’s pretty awesome.  It’s cool, with a lot a clear skies, and sunny days.  Later in the fall, when more of the leaves fall, it gets crunchy and cooler.  Sometimes overcast and misty.  I love the fall weather in the south.

Football games or jumping into leaf piles?  Well, football games, but now they’re all on television! From fifth grade to grad school I spent many an autumn afternoon and evening at football games. And, in “junior” college,  I was on a girl’s tag football team called The Silly Fillies.

Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?  No, not at all.  I love pumpkin pie, as I said last week, but I’m not in for pumpkin latte, or any other kind of pumpkin crap like that.

What is your favourite fall premiering show?  Huh?

Halloween, yay or nay?  Well, yay and nay.  I love seeing my two granddaughters get all dressed up in their costumes and might go to a special event with them.  But I live in the country, and other than the girls, we’ve never had one treat or treater at the house.  We turn off our light and don’t entertain them.  We’re party poopers.

Autumn mornings or Autumn evenings?  Ummm, late morning to midday.  I’ve never been a morning or a night person.

What do you think about Black Friday?  I never shop on Black Friday. I don’t care what the good deal is. I am not standing in long lines or fighting a mob.

What is your favourite Autumn trend?   I love the new trends with nail polish.  For example, rather than doing just the ring finger differently now, it’s the middle and ring fingers.  There are some other new trends with finger nail polish too.  I’m still pretty conservative though.  Kind of have to be in my profession.

Your favourite pie?  Of course pumpkin.  Wrote all about that last week.  But for fall, also yummy ones are peach, apple, and pecan.

OK.   This is my first blog challenge completed.  I know it seems like kind of a lazy post.  But it’s been six months since I started blogging and I was thinking of taking a week off anyway.  So just look at this as a mini-break. Now I pass it on to a few others.  So, here’s to you four….. Or anyone else want to weigh in?  dmzh
